SQUAD STRUCTURE AND GUIDELINES

Please note that the following are all subject to the coach's discretion. There may be some exceptions when the head coach feels a swimmer's progress would better suit a different squad. 

 

NATIONAL SQUAD

Criteria:

  • Coaches Recommendation

  • At least one National qualifying time in the current season for:

    • Australian Age Swimming Championships

    • Australian Open Water Swimming Championships

Must attend the Friday morning session each week.

Sessions: Recommended 6+ per week

Training sessions available (9)

​Training fees $230 per month​​​

  

STATE SQUAD

Criteria:

  • Coaches Recommendation

  • State Age and SA State Age Qualifying Times

Sessions: Recommended 5-6 per week

Training sessions available (8)​

Training fees $220 per month​​​

 STATE PROGRESSION SQUAD

Criteria:

  • Coaches Recommendation

  • State Age or SA State Age Qualifying Times

Sessions: Recommended 3-4 per week

Training sessions available (6)​

Training fees $195 per month

INTERMEDIATE SQUAD

Criteria:

  • Coaches Recommendation

In this squad, you will continue to develop your competitive swimming technique, and there will be a greater emphasis on endurance and competitive skills.

Sessions: Recommended 2-4 per week

Training sessions available (4)

Training fees $185 per month

DEVELOPMENT SQUAD

Criteria:

  • Ability to swim Backstroke, Breaststroke and Freestyle.

  • Ability to perform a freestyle tumble turn.

This squad is designed for less experienced swimmers who are looking to advance from learn to swim to competitive swimming or to swim for fitness. In this squad, you will develop your ability in the four swimming strokes, dive starts and turns. As a member of the Development Squad, you will be encouraged to attend club time trials, carnivals, and Swimming SA Development meets.

Sessions: Recomended 1-2 per week

Training sessions available (4)

Training fees $140 per month

SENIOR SQUADS
Criteria:

  • Previous NAQT or Coach’s recommendation

  • Up to 4 training sessions per week

  • Minimum age 16 years +

Juggling work, study, and life can make regular training tough, especially for swimmers who have already reached NAQT. This flexible squad offers a lighter training load, quality coaching, and continued support, helping you stay active and skilled without the pressure of full attendance, so you can fit swimming into your schedule.​
