Clovercrest Makes a Splash at the 2025 Australian Age Championships

The 2025 Australian Age Championships were an unforgettable journey for the Clovercrest Swimming Club. Over nine days of intense competition, our talented athletes took to the pool with determination, pride, and heart. From personal bests to state records, the team gave it everything, cementing their place among the nation’s best.


🏅 Savannah: The Definition of Grit and Growth

Savannah took on a demanding lineup of six events across multiple strokes and distances:

  • 200m Backstroke

  • 400m Freestyle

  • 200m Freestyle

  • 100m Backstroke

  • 200m Butterfly

  • 50m Backstroke


Her achievements included:

🔹 Finals Appearances:

  • 200m Backstroke

  • 400m Freestyle

  • 100m Backstroke

Savannah’s performance in the 200m Backstroke earned her a well-deserved spot on the podium with a 3rd Place finish. In addition, she made it into the finals in the 400m Freestyle and the 100m Backstroke, showing tremendous stamina and skill across her races.


🏆 Achievements:

  • 🏅 3 Finals Appearances

  • 🥉 3rd Place – Girls 14 Years 200m Backstroke

  • 🌊 Over 1850 metres raced


Savannah’s bronze medal in the 200m Backstroke was hard-earned and well-deserved, placing her on the podium among the nation’s best. Savannah gave every event her full focus and energy, demonstrating her skill in the water and her incredible work ethic and resilience under pressure.


🌟 Paige: A Breakout Nationals Performance

Paige was one of Clovercrest’s standout performers in the Girls 12–18 Years Multi-Class division. She competed in six demanding events:

  • 50m Backstroke

  • 100m Breaststroke

  • 50m Butterfly

  • 100m Backstroke

  • 50m Breaststroke

  • 200m Individual Medley


Not only did Paige qualify for the finals in all six events, but she also delivered incredible results throughout:

  • 100m Breaststroke MC

  • 50m Butterfly MC

  • 100m Backstroke MC

  • 50m Breaststroke MC

  • 200m Individual Medley MC


🏆 Achievements:

  • 🥈 2nd Place – Girls 12–13 50m Butterfly MC

  • 🥉 3rd Place – 50m Backstroke MC, 100m Breaststroke MC, 100m Backstroke MC

  • 🔥 3 South Australian MC Records (S14) – 50m Back, 100m Back, and 200m IM

  • 💪 Over 1100 metres raced


Paige’s consistency, technical skill, and competitive fire lit up the pool. Her record-breaking swims are a testament to her commitment and training, and her positive energy lifted the entire team throughout the competition. With Nationals complete, Paige has officially handed over the Clover Torch—but her impact will ripple far beyond this meet.


💪 Damian: Rising to Every Challenge

Damian stepped up in four key events throughout the competition:

  • 50m Breaststroke

  • 100m Breaststroke

  • 200m Breaststroke

  • Mixed 14 & Under 4x50m Medley Relay (representing Team SA)

His participation in the record-breaking South Australian relay team was a proud highlight, helping set a new SA State Record.

Across his events, Damian highlighted strength, control, and a calm, competitive presence. He consistently delivered under pressure and represented both Clovercrest and Team SA with pride.





🔥 Hannah: Driven by Passion and Persistence

Hannah dove into Nationals with fierce determination, competing in three major freestyle events:

  • 100m Freestyle

  • 200m Freestyle

  • 400m Freestyle

Each swim was a display of courage and commitment, with her 400m effort standing out as a test of both stamina and mental grit. Hannah’s growth as an athlete was evident in every race, and her presence lifted the spirit of the team.










🏊 Daniel: Tackling the Ultimate Distance

Daniel took on the longest and most gruelling challenge of the meet:

  • 1500m Freestyle

This distance event tested every ounce of endurance and mental toughness. Facing off against some of Australia’s top long-distance swimmers, Daniel held strong and delivered a performance to be proud of. His drive and perseverance are a credit to himself and the club.

None of this would have been possible without Coach Jill, whose passion, leadership, and tireless dedication guided the team through every race. Whether through quiet words of encouragement or powerful pep talks on the pool deck, her support never wavered.
